Banquette Seating, The New Dining Chair

I think I lived in 17th century Paris in another life, That or a 1950's diner. What I would call a high-back upholstered bench, the Banquette is definitely enjoying a revival in modern day dining rooms. I love the look of mix and match furniture, and this makes any dining room instantly cozy. These images make me want to scour a flea market, reupholster my find, and a have a nice meal.

Living Room Lust

I have two photos of living rooms I have been drooling over. My want for a charcoal grey couch has proved to be increasingly time consuming with a way to blend these two color palettes pictured.

I decided to take a trip to Ethan Allen a few weeks ago, and it was like being a kid in a candy store. They have over 200 fabrics to choose from, and have so many furniture options to choose from. These fabrics are just the perfect blend of the grey/beige/tans I have been thinking of. My search may be over....

First Finished Project

While the inside was quickly becoming a hard hat zone, I just could not stand pulling into the driveway and seeing how sad the outside looked. The gutters were falling off, and there was a shutter missing.

We decided to change the shutters to black, and a more modern Raised-Panel style.

The first time I saw the finished product, I shed happy tears! It is amazing the difference these updates made, and we could not be happier with the results.

We got it!

After looking at over 40 houses, my husband fell in love with a foreclosed property. I was really hoping for a move in ready place, but with some vision and a great price we decided to go for it.
